About the Project Programs

What We Do

Derech Eretz operates in four strategic areas: education, local governance, resources, and legislation. Each area contributes to the achievement of strategic goals.

We are training leaders of change. We equip activists with practical tools for making an impact: from effective fundraising and project management to modern methods of civic engagement

Civic Academy

Work on the bill “On the Legalization of District Councils” and its advancement in the Knesset. We are launching pilot projects for district councils in cities across Israel to test the model in practice, and we are initiating expert discussions on updating legislation related to civic participation.

Parliamentary lobby

Technical support and legal assistance for local projects in cities across Israel. We advise activists, provide expert guidance, and offer small grants to directly fund urban initiatives.

Resource Center

Solving the city’s problems through direct support for the Movement’s activists. We turn citizens’ concerns into tangible results on every street.

I want to share a dream with you. I am moving toward it, and I believe I have found how to get there. So — the dream.

My dream is that every friend, comrade, and acquaintance sees how respectfully they are treated. How people seek conversation with them. How interesting projects are offered with fair, shared funding. My friends who did the enormous work of integration and found themselves, as the saying goes, by the broken trough — who hold immense human and intellectual capital and could give this wonderful country a great deal. They only need support — a foothold. A lift above the everyday, and a lighter burden. That is my dream.
