Local Initiatives
Local Initiatives is where the principle of civic self-governance meets the street. We work on the ground, turning what residents want into concrete results block by block. The movement gives organizers direct support to shape decisions on city problems — from streetlights and public safety to building neighborhood communities. This is where a new model of Israeli civic responsibility is being tested.

Mission. Put the tools for real change in every citizen's hands, and turn local problem-solving into a working engine of direct democracy.

What We're Building
  • Real results on the ground
Hundreds of local projects across the country. Whether it's a streetlight, a new park, or a public safety issue, we make sure each request from residents ends with something concrete in place.
  • Supporting and scaling local leadership
Direct organizational and expert support for Derech Eretz organizers. We walk local leaders from idea to finished project and document the wins so they can be replicated in other cities.
  • From residents to participants
Instead of waiting for the state to act, residents take ownership themselves. We create the conditions where people take responsibility for their neighborhood and get real, hands-on experience running their own blocks.
